About Atascocita, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Atascocita is a large, census-designated place with approximately 65,600 residents as of 2010. Located in Harris County, this Texas community can be found 6 miles east of Humble and 18 miles northeast of Downtown Houston. Construction of the Atascocita area began in the 1970s, and by the mid-1990s, the community was one of the fastest growing in the Greater Houston area with 15 neighborhoods. In terms of education, public schools are available through the Humble Independent School District, and the Lone Star College – Atascocita Center is located here.

Both visitors and residents to Atascocita will enjoy the many amenities the community has to offer. There are several delicious restaurants found here, including Italiano’s Restaurant, La Villa Mexican Restaurant, and Wazabi Sushi Bar. Golf courses like the Atascocita Golf Club have helped the community to earn U.S. New and World Report’s distinction as one of the best places for retirement, and there is also ample fishing and boating opportunities on Lake Houston. Additionally, the Lindsay/Lyons Park and Sports Complex features 10 lighted baseball diamonds, playgrounds, and other sport fields.

The weather in Atascocita can be broken into two seasons – a wet season and a dry season. The wet season includes the summer, and daily high temperatures reach the mid-90s. Humidity is abundant due to the proximity to coast, so heat indices can reach over 100. Summer storms are also common, so to stay comfortable throughout the season, residents will need efficient air conditioning at home.

The mild winter months are another reason that retirement is so popular in Atascocita. Average winter highs reach about 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and the coldest month of the usually is January. During the peak of the season, north winds can bring cold rain to the area, and snow is almost unheard of in the region. However, cold fronts sometimes bring chilly temperatures, and thermostat readings can plunge overnight, so a reliable furnace system or heat pump is a necessity.
